The 2015 CX-5 has two four-cylinder engine choices. Sport models have a 155-horsepower 2.0-liter engine that can feel underpowered on the highway and when accelerating from a stop. Touring and Grand Touring models feature a 2.5-liter that makes 184 horsepower and is more adequate for most driving needs. The CX-5 Sport has either a six-speed manual or a crisp and responsive six-speed automatic, while all other models only come with the automatic. Front-wheel drive is standard, but some used models may have available all-wheel drive. Fuel economy ranges from 26 mpg in the city and 34 mpg on the highway (2.0-liter engine and manual transmission) to 24 mpg in the city and 29 on the highway (2.5-liter engine, automatic transmission, and all-wheel drive).
